WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades give you boost in certain statistics. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by 3. A random substat is also increased with every upgrade.
The upgraded gear typically has a more value in trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or very high stat variation (like Eth titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as useful for the latter because of the requirement to roll an exact version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrade r enables players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create enchantments.
You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear up-to-date, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each several weeks.
Upgrades will cost more depending on the item level, however, they are always cheaper than buying new gear. For example upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points, while purchasing the same item from another player will cost 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapon, armor, tool and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for different currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any tool, weapon, or armor. The button will display the preview of an item's next level of upgrade, if there are enough materials.
Upgrade costs differ based on the item slot, and the current level of the item. For instance, weapons will cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with certain upgrades offering discounts to lower the cost of Flightstones or crests that are used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain amount, it can be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currency types.
Item upgraders can be found at many locations including the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade coupon and a chance to obtain the latest recipe. The upgrade discount increases according to the number of items being upgraded, and can be boosted by requiring players to complete specific achievements or quests.
In contrast to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II is no item upgrader available at the beginning of Icewind Dale. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are available only via a variety of ways. This is both a positive and an issue.
In Season 3, many new features have been added to the upgrade system. Once a player has upgraded to a certain item level for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same item level, will cost less. This is even if the items are from a different set of equipment.
The amount of Valorstones required for upgrades is decreased, and the discount is affixed to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is reduced as well, but is only available when certain milestones are achieved.
Crests
Players have several choices when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specialized, and are used during specific level upgrades for items. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1 and are available in four ranks.
The first thing to remember is that Crests are only available to equipment that is of a particular rank. Each rank has an upgrade path that is different. The simplest and simplest upgrade path costs 15 crests, while the most complicated requires as many as 20 crests depending on the kind of gear being upgraded.
Players can obtain crests by completing content of the appropriate level, which means walking around and doing outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons with all difficulty for items of higher tier, or Mythic+ dungeons or heroic raid bosses for endgame gear. This is especially applicable to rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character, which will only be able to avail the discount for all accounts when all of the slots are filled with top-quality gear.
